WHY HEADIES AWARD WAS HELD IN THE U.S & FULL LIST OF WINNERS
The founder and Ceo of the headies award and Hiptv Mr Ayo Animashaun stated that the main reason why the 15th edition of Headies music award was held in Atlanta, US was to take afrobeat and the Nigerian music industry to the centre stage of the world.

In an interview with Billboard magazine Ayo stated Afromusic artist are no longer local champions, Afrobeats is not just about our own music anymore hence the need to take centre stage. so as to open new doors for new talent not just having the award in Nigeria or Africa the same old way.
He also said the reason having to bring the award to Atlanta US was because Atlanta is known to be the Black entertainment capital of the world so we settled for that location to make a remarkable difference.
The 15th Headies Music Award was held on Sunday 4th September 2022, the event took place for the very first time outside the shores of Africa at the cobbs energy performing art centre in Atlanta, US.
